bhdw cover 300x300 when one song isnt enough (wosie!) broken hearts and dirty windows

when one song isn’t enough (wosie!), an album deserves a spotlight.  a shout out.  a holla back.  wait, that’s not right.  anyway, today’s wosie! is the new compilation album from ohboy records titled broken hearts and dirty windows.    the whole album happens to be a tribute to john prine, and each song is an original work from prine that’s been redone by the likes of justin vernon (bon iver), josh ritter, the avett brothers, drive-by truckers, deer tick

so, to wet your whistle, here’s in spite of ourselves by john prine with iris dement.  and since there is no need to reinvent the wheel, here is bhdw’s website that features links to all the artists featured.

from the album (but not live), connor oberst and the mystic valley band (connor oberst = from bright eyes) performing wedding day in funeralville

another from the album, justin vernon’s version of bruised orange (chain of sorrow)

same duo as the album, but liz isenberg and deer tick are rocking out to friday the 13th instead…

another unrelated song from a related artist.  those darlins in red light love, this video is uh-mazing!
