ah, new year’s….

i recently learned that you can do or say anything you want on new year.  it’s like allah not seeing in the shade… you’d think i would have learned this years ago!

walking on the street, some jerk was mowing through the crowd because it was more important for him to get home than anyone else.  as i caught an elbow i hear “happy new year”.  some wreaking of alcohol, fueled by liquid courage, amorous dude stumbles up to friends of mine and hugs them on the street saying “happy new year”.  how about the drunk girl behind me, frustrated by my lack of attention, spewing a mixture of curse words and “happy new year” in equal parts.  oh, happy new year is right!  in the spirit, here are a few thoughts while i hide in the shade of the new year:

10. thank goodness for another britney spears cd in ’09.  happy new year.

9. be good so next year santa will bring you the best cd ever.  happy new year.

8. i am so hot for lady gaga.  happy new year.

7 1/2. seriously, lady gaga, call me.  happy new year.

7. Best. Rapper. Ever. happy new year.

6 1/2. joaquin phoenix proves a sexy beard works for every man.  happy new year.

6. thanks mtv (“music television”) for playing music videos.  happy new year. (ps.  and mtv, i’m totally sure that your coverage, reviews, ratings, etc are all incredibly impartial!  happy new year)

5. for the love of ray j celebreality, oh how i hope more great ideas are coming for 2010.  happy new year.

4. susan boyle.  call me.  happy new year.

3. mj tribute:  his best music video… i love green stuff!  happy new year.

2. kanye west is my pick for most thoughtful artist of the year.  happy new year.

1. mc hammer pants are coming back in 2010!  HAPPY NEW YEAR.
