a few nights ago i had the pleasure of seeing a certain pair of scandanavian sisters in concert. clad in flannel, with pitch perfect voices, first aid kit put on a great show. so they record well, and they sound excellent live – this makes them worthy of praise.
here it is. praise. woo ha and all that.
seriously though, at one point they stepped away from the mics and sung completely acapella. just the two ladies. by themselves. and it was awesome. clear. beautiful. crisp. harmony. it was almost uncanny how perfect it sounded. i’m not entirely convinced that this feat would be possible if they weren’t sisters. there was a certain loving familiarity that turned an otherwise excellent number stellar.
sweden’s new best export for sure – move over semi-finished iron and steel mill products. this folk pop duo just makes you happy. their harmonizing is right on point, and they clearly have a good time with their music. who knows if they’ll ever ‘make it,’ and who really cares. leave it to wichita to find another solid act. if you can, see them live!
don’t trust me, listen for yourself…
