tripod ipodattacks apple kills cds

have you flipped through itunes lately?  it’s hard not to, since they are the defacto repository for all modern music.  even people sitting around with a mic in the basement are putting things up for sale.

what the heck is up with album only and bonus content?  cds have clearly been kicked at the bucket by apple and the man.  all the exclusive digital content makes it difficult to justify buying a cd anymore.  whip out an iphone and open up itunes when looking at a cd, and you’re likely to find the same cd with two additional tracks for the same price.  i for one, however, like cds because they’re tangible.  only a fire, microwave, poorly placed supermagnet, or thief can take them away from you!  with m4as from apple, i feel like i’m renting them.  gratefully, it is much better now than when they used to restrict the crap out of them.cd rip 2 apple kills cds

well, apple has been working for awhile on a new ‘entertainment device‘ in concert with the record companies.  the idea, make viable electronic albums for sale and a new must-have thingee the masses will clamor for.  slated to be released around christmas, their 10 inch screened little netbook-audio-thingamabobber will likely put the last nail in compact discs coffin (supposing it catches on).

happily, many awesome artists have gone back to  (or never stopped) pressing vinyl.  horray for the indie labels being retro-awesome. now if they would just stop making deals with apple to put exclusive content up on itunes, and if big labels would follow suit so folks will continue to have options…

You will be happy to know that even SUPERPOWERFUL DOOMSDAY WEAPON SUPERMAGNETS will not mess with your precious CDs. Sun kills though on burned CDs due to the the tech. is not as robust as the stuff from the factory.
